What does page speed optimization include?
A speed audit, then fixes for images, code, fonts, third-party scripts, caching, the database and server settings, tested on every page type, with a before and after report. What we fix depends on what the audit finds.
Does speed affect my Google ranking?
Yes. Core Web Vitals are part of how Google judges page experience, and faster pages keep visitors longer and convert better. Good content still matters most, but a slow site holds it back.
What are Core Web Vitals?
Three measures from real visitors: LCP (how fast the main content loads, good is 2.5 s or less), INP (how fast the page responds to clicks and taps, good is 200 ms or less) and CLS (how much the layout shifts, good is 0.1 or less). INP replaced the older FID measure in March 2024.
How much does it cost?
The speed audit is free. After it, you get a fixed quote, plus 18% GST, based on what needs fixing. No work starts until you approve it.
How long does it take?
Most websites take 2 to 5 working days after you approve the quote. Large stores or sites that need code changes can take longer; the timeline is in your quote.
What score will I get?
We aim for 90+ on desktop and as high as your site allows on mobile, where scores are naturally lower. The score is a guide; what counts is passing Core Web Vitals and a site that feels fast to your visitors. We don't promise a number before the audit.
Will optimization break my website?
No. We take a full backup first and test every page type after each change, including forms, cart, checkout and login. If something needs a trade-off, we ask you first.
Which platforms do you optimize?
WordPress and WooCommerce most often, plus Shopify (theme code and apps), OJS journal websites and custom PHP sites. Ask us about others.
Is my hosting the problem?
Sometimes. The audit shows how fast your server responds. If hosting is the bottleneck, we'll tell you and recommend a better plan from the provider you choose. We don't sell hosting; it stays in your name.
Will my site stay fast?
New plugins, images and scripts slow sites down over time. We give you tips at handover, and our maintenance plans include regular checks and updates.
Which tools do you use?
Google PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, Search Console, GTmetrix, WebPageTest and Chrome DevTools. You get the reports, so you can check the results yourself.
