How long does a migration take?
Our migration team contacts you within 3 hours of your order. Most standard cPanel to cPanel migrations are done within 24 to 48 hours, depending on the size of the site. Platform changes and store migrations get a timeline in their quote.
What do I need to share?
Usually:
- Access to your current hosting (cPanel or FTP login and server address).
- Access to your new hosting.
- Access to your domain account, if name servers or DNS need to change.
We use them only for the migration. Change the passwords after handover.
Will my website go down?
Your website stays live on the old hosting while we move and test it. When we switch the DNS, it can take a few hours for everyone to see the new server; during that time some visitors may still see the old site. Nothing is lost either way.
Is my data safe?
Yes. We take a full backup of files, databases and email before we start and keep it until you confirm the migration is successful. Your logins and data are handled confidentially.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Not if the move is done properly. A hosting move keeps the same addresses, so rankings are not affected. When addresses change (a new domain or a new platform), we set up 301 redirects from every old page and update your sitemap and Google Search Console.
How long until my domain points to the new server?
DNS changes usually spread within a few hours and can take up to 24 to 48 hours worldwide, depending on your domain provider and visitors' internet providers. This is normal and temporary.
Can you move my email accounts too?
Yes. With a cPanel move, email accounts, their settings and existing emails are moved with the site. Moving email to a different provider is quoted separately; tell us about your email setup when you order.
My hosting doesn't use cPanel. Can you still help?
Yes. We move sites from Plesk, DirectAdmin and custom servers too. These can take longer, so they're quoted for your setup.
Can you move my site from Wix, Squarespace or another builder?
Yes. Site builders don't allow a direct copy, so we rebuild your site on WordPress, move your pages, posts and images, and redirect the old addresses. It's quoted after we see your site.
Will you set up the same custom settings as on my old server?
The standard migration moves your website, database and email. Custom server settings and application installs are not included, but we can do them for an extra charge if you don't have a developer or server administrator. Ask us for a quote.
What if something doesn't work after the migration?
Tell us straight away. We test before handover, and if anything from the move shows up afterwards, we fix it as part of the migration. That's also why we keep your backup until you confirm.
Do you sell hosting?
No. We don't sell hosting, domains or email. You buy your new hosting in your own name from the provider you choose. If you're unsure, we'll recommend a plan that fits your site before we move it.
