Questions
Do you sell hosting or cloud services?
No. The cloud or server account is opened in your name and the provider bills you directly. We don't resell hosting, cloud or bandwidth, and we never hold your account. We set up, deploy and look after the server for you.
Which provider should we choose?
It depends on your software, traffic and budget. Many Indian websites and apps run well on a VPS from DigitalOcean, Vultr or AWS Lightsail in an Indian region; organisations already on AWS or Azure usually stay there. We recommend one before you buy.
Do we need a cloud server, or is shared hosting enough?
Small websites often run fine on good shared hosting, and we'll tell you so. A VPS or cloud server makes sense for busy sites, custom apps, OJS or DSpace, or when you need more control.
What access do you need?
A separate user for us, such as an AWS IAM user or an SSH login, with only the permissions the work needs. Please don't send root passwords by email. You can remove our access at any time.
Who looks after the server afterwards?
You can manage it yourselves with the notes we hand over, or we look after updates, backups and problems on a support plan or by the hour.
Can you move our website from shared hosting?
Yes. We set up the new server in your name and move your site, database and email settings, with a backup kept until you confirm. See our website migration service.
Is the server secure?
We harden every server and keep backups off it, which covers the most common risks. No one can promise a server will never have a problem, so backups and updates matter, and we set both up from day one.
How much does it cost?
Our setup work is quoted after a free call, with one fixed price plus 18% GST. Server, storage and bandwidth costs are paid by you directly to your provider, and we'll estimate them before you buy.
