Your team manages certificates from an admin panel inside your WordPress dashboard. Altechmind sets everything up before the handover, so on day one you can go straight to issuing certificates. The panel has four areas.

The four areas

AreaWhat you do there
CertificatesGenerate new certificates; search and filter, download, email, revoke and export existing ones
JournalsYour journal’s identity: name, ISSN, logo, signatory and signature image
SettingsDesign, wording, certificate types, email (SMTP) and page addresses
LicenseYour system’s activation details. You won’t normally need to change anything here.

Certificates

This is where your team spends most of its time. From here you create a certificate, find any certificate you’ve issued, download its PDF, email it to the recipient, revoke it, or export your records.

Journals

The details printed on every certificate: journal name, ISSN, logo, and the signatory’s name, title and signature. See setting up your journal.

Settings

How your certificates look and behave: colours, borders, fonts, seal and watermark; the wording on the certificate; which certificate types are in use; the email settings; and the addresses of the verification and author pages.

Some settings are locked with an unlock code so they can’t be changed by accident. If a section is read-only and you need to change it, contact Altechmind for an unlock code.

Built-in safeguards

  • Destructive actions, such as revoking a certificate, ask for a second confirmation (two-factor) before they go through.
  • PDFs and signature images are stored in a protected folder outside the public part of your website, so they can’t be opened by guessing a link.
  • Signature images never go into the WordPress media library.

Give each team member their own WordPress login instead of sharing one. It keeps access easy to manage when people join or leave.

Where to start

  1. Check your journal’s details and branding: set up your journal.
  2. Issue a test certificate to yourself: issue a certificate.
  3. Scan its QR code with your phone to see the public verification page.

Questions

Where is the admin panel?

Inside your journal’s WordPress dashboard. There’s no separate website or app to log in to.

Why is a settings section read-only?

Some settings are locked with an unlock code so they can’t be changed by accident. Contact Altechmind if you need to change one.

Why am I asked to confirm again when I revoke a certificate?

Destructive actions need a second confirmation step, so a certificate can’t be revoked by a stray click.

A certificate system your team can run

Altechmind sets up the admin panel, your designs and your settings, then hands it over ready to use.
